In MEDEX 2009 Fair to be implemented in İstanbul between the dates of 18 – 22 March 2009, International Underwater Photo Contest is organized in which MEDEX & MARINE PHOTO underwater photo awards will be distributed and the winning degrees of the contest from the participants will be exhibited during the fair.
All of the photos participating in the contest will be exhibited in the fair exhibition salon during the fair and will be published in MARINE PHOTO Magazine. At the same time, the prize of honor will be given to the producer and the Publisher of the best documentary in the branch of underwater documentaries.
CONTEST CATEGORIES
1. Wide Angle: Photos taken in the entire seas of the world are valid.
It is required that the photos must be taken with at least 24 mm or more wide angled lenses.
(Prizes will be given to the photos sharing the first three degrees).
2. Macro: Photos taken in the entire seas of the world are valid.
It is required that the photos must be taken with the lenses having at least 50 mm or more
focal length.
(Prizes will be given to the photos sharing the first three degrees).
CONTEST RULES
1. The Contest is open to all photographers other than Medex execution and organizastion
committee and the persons who work in Marine Photo Magazine.
2. Any photograph being published in Marine Photo Magazine previously can not participate
in this contest.
3. Contest photos will not be returned to the photographers as they will be used imn the
printing stage after the contest.
4. The owners of the photos will not demand any right for the photos participating in the
contest because of their publishings in the magazine because of being the cover or the
news, … etc and for their exhibitings in MEDEX Fair in the name of the contest.
5. Photographers can participate in the contest in every branch, however the participation is
limited with five photos in every branch.
6. Participation Form will be filled in every branch and the photos of the relative branch will
be delivered with the participant’s own photograph (portrait or can be with the diving
outfit). Photocopy of th participation form will not be accepted and the participant will fill
the original participation form for each one of the participated branch and will deliver the
photos. The photos of the participant applying the rules adversely will not be accepted.
7. In the event of having participants participating in more than one category (1 piece of CD
containing 5 pieces of slides or digital photos as the most) there will be a separate
envelopefor each branch and containing the participation forma and the photo of the
participant and maximum of 5 photos belonging to that branch. These envelopes will be
sent to the address of :

Deliveries will be done by APS or Cargo (cargo expenses will bemet by the participants).
Participation Preparation
1. Contest photos wil be given in DVD or CD-ROM.
2. Digital photos will be given by having them recorded in the formats of JPEG or TIFF.
There must be one CD for each branch containing maximum of 5 photos.
Photos must be in the size of at least 3,5 x 4,5 cm and they must be copied as 300 dpi.
Participation branch name together with the name and surname of the participant will be
written on the front face of the CD.
Participation Time Table:
Latest participation date is 31 December 2008.
The results of the contest will be announced in March – April 2009 edition of Underwater World / Marine Photo Magazine as well as on the internet page of MEDEX of the same period.
